Music Instrumental Programme

During music lessons, pupils in the different levels devote one term to learn to play music

instruments.  Pupils learn to play on various instruments such as kompangs, tambourines,

handbells, guzhengs, and the tablas.  By having the authentic experience of playing on

instruments, pupils are able to try out the practical aspects of musical concepts and to

creatively engage in the art of performance.

Dance Immersion to Hongkong 2010

Performance at Hong Kong Disneyland

The main highlight of the Dance Immersion to Hong Kong was the public Performance at the Hong Kong Disneyland which is also part of the Disney Performing Arts programme.  Our dancers awed the audience with a brilliant performance of Indian dance synergized with popular Disney tunes.

Our Indian Dancers demonstrating the school core value of ‘Teamwork’ in this group performance.

Exchange at Dance Department of Hong Kong Children’s Choir

The Dance Immersion to Hong Kong was also a good opportunity for our Indian dancers to experience a different dance culture.  Our Indian dancers had a great time learning the fundamental of ballet and Chinese Dance.  At the same time, we also taught our Hong Kong friends some basic Indian Dance steps.  We also had the opportunity to demonstrate the essence of multiculturalism by showing how our dancers who come from different races are able to unite through the learning and performing of Indian Dance.  The cultural exchange serves as an opportunity for our dancers to develop a better sense of appreciation of diverse dance cultures.

Establishing learning networks with our regional neighbours.

Chinese Dance Immersion Trip to Genting Highlands and Kuala Lumpur 2012

Participation in 21st Century International Arts Festival – Dance Competition

The main highlight of the dance immersion was dance competition on Day 3 of the trip.  Our dancers impressed the adjudicators with their energetic performance of ‘Starlets of the Chinese Opera’ and achieved a Gold with Honours award.

Celebrating the success of our hard work.

Masterclass with dance professionals and adjudicators
The masterclass sessions served as good opportunities for our Chinese dancers to deepen their expertise in Chinese Dance and also to experience different dance cultures.  Our Chinese dancers had a great time learning the fundamental of modern dance and basic gymnastics.  The exposure to different genres of dances develops in our Chinese dancers a better sense of appreciation of diverse dance cultures.
