PROGRAMME OBJECTIVES

In Rivervale Primary School, innovation is the key driver towards the attainment of a School of Excellence. By inculcating a strong spirit of I & E, it is hoped that our pupils will be equipped with 21st-century knowledge and skills so as to help them cope competently with life’s challenges and respond adeptly to the myriad of complex changes that is prevalent in our society and the world at large.

All Staff and pupils make use of the SWOT-analysis (Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities and Threats) tool when crafting suggestions so as to help them weigh the pros and cons judiciously prior to their implementation. By employing this tool, wastage of time, effort and resources is significantly reduced and at the same time, positive and impactful outcomes are maximally manufactured.

PROGRAMMES

  • Jumble Sale - I&E monitors sell donated items to their school mates once a week during recess. This jumble sale is a level-based competition which aims to motivate pupils to employ innovative and enterprising ideas and skills to increase profit. 50% of the proceeds are donated to the Financial Assisted Scheme (FAS) pupils and the remaining 50% utilised for the conducting of I & E-related activities.
  • Online Submission of Individual SWOT-analysis of Pupil Suggestion Form – All P1 – P6 pupils are encouraged to submit their suggestions based on a proposed topic via this link in the ‘asknlearn’ portal: http://lms.asknlearn.com/RIVERVALE_PS/web/startpage/Index.aspx> My Task > Individual SWOT-analysis of Pupil Suggestion. These suggestions are then evaluated by a panel that is made up of 2 teachers, 3 key personnels and 2 Vice-Principals. The ‘Accepted’ and ‘Kept In View’ suggestions are collated in a Google doc for all staff to implement and then update.
