Latest updates regarding COVID-19

 

Dear Parents/Guardians,

 

Enhanced Precautionary Measures for 2019-nCOV

 

MOE has also announced that schools will resume on 23 Mar 2020, Monday. Parents may refer to the following for MOE Press Release dated 19 Mar 2020.

 

In Rivervale Primary School, we have looked into the following key areas to ensure that our school remain a safe environment for students and staff.

 

    1.    Issuance of Leave of Absence (LOA) for ALL Overseas Travel During March Holidays

·       Applies to both students and staff who have travelled out of Singapore on or after 14 Mar 2020 Saturday

·       With immediate effect, affected students and staff will not be able to enter the school (including Student Care Centre) till end of their LOA period.

·       School will provide and issue the LOA letter.

·       Day 0 of the 14-day LOA commences on date of return to Singapore.

 

 

     2.    Issuance of Stay Home Notice (SHN) for returning Singaporeans, Long Term Pass Holders and short term visitors from ALL countries with effect from 20 Mar 2020, 23:59hrs

·       Applies to both students and staff who have travelled out of Singapore

·       With immediate effect, affected students and staff will not be able to enter the school (including Student Care Centre) till end of their SHN period.

·       Day 0 of the 14-day SHN commences on date of return to Singapore.

 

 

     3.    Adjustments to school programmes

     4.    Stepped up precautionary measures  

  • Wipe-down routine in classrooms
  • Assigned seating and wipe-down routine in canteens
  • Assigned play areas for students to play in reduced group sizes
  • Fixed exam-style seating for primary 3 students and above

These supplement earlier measures such as daily temperature checks, encouraging frequent hand washing and staggering of recess times.

 

     5.    Support from school

 

·       Students away on LOA or SHN will be supported via homebased learning.

·       Year Heads will get in touch with affected students on LOA matters including Start of LOA and Day of Return to School.
